Original Title: Radioterapia corporal estereotáxica en cáncer de próstata
Authors' recommendations: CONCLUSIONS No comparative evidence was identified on the use of stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT) versus controlled observation or radical surgery in patients with prostate cancer eligible for those treatments. Very low quality evidence does not allow drawing conclusions about SBRT effectiveness and/or safety when compared with other radiotherapy techniques in patients with localized prostate cancer. Most clinical practice guidelines and/or consensus documents assessed mentioning the use of SBRT do not recommend it for prostate cancer, except for one United States guideline, which does recommend it as another alternative for the treatment of these patients. The Latin American health sponsors assessed do not mention or cover SBRT for prostate cancer. In high-income countries, while United States public and private sponsor cover SBRT for prostate cancer, England and France do not.
