                Original Title:
Sistema de medición de osmolaridad lagrimal (TearLab® Osmolarity System) en Ojo Seco

                Authors' recommendations:
                CONCLUSIONS
No evidence was found showing that clinical management plus TearLab® osmolarity measurement system would improve the clinical outcome of patients. Low quality evidence suggests that measurement of lacrimal osmolarity with the TearLab® system has moderate diagnostic accuracy. It is considered a safe diagnostic method, which might be used in addition to other tests as an ancillary diagnostic test for dry eye syndrome. Low quality evidence suggests that the isolated measurement of lacrimal osmolarity is not useful for dry eye diagnosis.
The clinical practice guidelines surveyed mention it as diagnostic alternative to measure lacrimal osmolarity, but half of them mention TearLab® osmolarity measurement system.
Regarding the coverage policies assessed, one United States health sponsor and some public health sponsors of high-income countries, cover it.
The cost of using this technology in Argentina is unknown.
