Authors' recommendations: CONCLUSIONS Low-quality evidence on the use of ketoanalogues associated with protein-restricted diets versus standard or less protein-restricted diets for advanced chronic kidney failure is contradictory in terms of its potential risks and benefits; this prevents from drawing conclusions about the efficacy of this technology. There is no evidence assessing the addition of kenoanalogues versus placebo in the same diet regimen. Most clinical practice guidelines and coverage policies do not mention this technology, although it is worth mentioning that ketoanalogues are not authorized by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
