Original Title: Anticuerpos anti PGP 9,5 en neuropatía de fibras pequeñas
Authors' recommendations: CONCLUSIONS No evidence mentioning the use of skin biopsy associated to antibodies to protein gene product 9.5 (PGP9.5) has been found that may be used in small fiber neuropathy follow up or progress. Very low-quality evidence suggests that skin biopsy associated to antibodies to PGP9.5 might have more sensitivity and specificity than the clinical examination and the combined sensory quantitative tests to diagnose small fiber neuropathy. The clinical practice guidelines found suggest the use of the antibodies to PGP9.5 as a valid marker when performing a skin biopsy to diagnose small fiber neuropathy. The coverage policies found do not specifically mention the use of the antibodies to PGP9.5; but they do mention skin biopsy as the test to be used in small fiber neuropathy diagnosis. In Argentina, no cost-effectiveness studies have been found for this technology.
