English
Authors' objectives: The National Planning atrial fibrillation subgroup asked us to review the published evidence on the clinical and cost-effectiveness of various strategies to detect paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF) in patients with newly diagnosed ischaemic stroke who are selected to have prolonged electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring.
Authors' results and conclusions: Although ambulatory ECG technologies are useful for detecting paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, the evidence does not tell us the best way to use it.
