Authors' objectives: Screening for osteoporosis aims to identify and treat persons with an osteoporosis-related fracture risk in order to avoid fractures. The objective of this assessment was to evaluate the relative effectiveness and safety of population-based screening compared with standard care (no screening) using evidence from randomised controlled trials.
