Original Title:
Tomosíntesis digital en el cáncer de mama. Revisión sistemática.
Authors' objectives:
The objective of this systematic review was to establish the efficacy – diagnostic accuracy and precision- , effectiveness - in terms of reduction of mortality-, and safety of the digital breast tomosyntesis in both breast cancer screening and diagnosis.
Authors' results and conclusions:
The results about the improvements of the diagnosis of the breast cancer whith the tomosynthesis in comparison with the digital mammography were inconclusive; there were no studies on their use in screening. Furthermore, to reduce the heterogeneity found in the results, it would be recommendable to improve aspects related to the spectrum of patients, the standardization of both the technique and the procedures (specially the number of tomosynthesis views).
