Authors' objectives:
Assessing the effectiveness and safety of focal ablation with irreversible electroporation, HIFUs and holmium laser for organ-confined prostate cancer with low and intermediate risk.
Authors' results and conclusions:
Focal ablation of prostate cancer is a developing therapeutic technique. The design of the studies found limits the possibility to assess these interventions (case series, level 3) because it does not establish direct comparisons or long-term results. It is necessary the elaboration of new prospective studies, controlled and randomized that establish direct comparisons with other treatments to provide safety and efficacy results in the long term.
