Revisión bibliográfica sobre el diagnóstico, tratamiento y seguimiento de la enfermedad de Kawasaki
Authors' objectives:
Carry out a bibliographic review on the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of Kawasaki disease in childhood that would allow us to assess the relevance and repercussion of the approach to this disease.
Authors' results and conclusions:
In the absence of solid evidence on certain therapeutic options and the diversity of diagnostic criteria, it would be convenient to elaborate standards that help to homogenize the different aspects, as well as facilitate access to the clinical procedures required by these patients and that contribute to improving quality assistance, through the establishment of appropriate human, technological and structural resources for the management of patients with Kawasaki disease.
Authors' methods:
Review of the literature (2012-2017). A search of the databases and web pages was carried out: CRD, Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews, Cochrane Plus Library, Pubmed Health-Reviews of clinical effectiveness research, NICE Evidence, PROSPERO, Epistemonikos database, Spanish Network of Agencies for Assessing National Health System Technologies, Fisterra, Orphanet, National Guideline Clearinghouse and GIN — Guidelines International Network.
Health technology assessment reports, clinical practice guidelines, systematic reviews, meta-analysis and consensus documents, positions and protocols of Scientific Societies were selected.
