Authors' recommendations: Overall, three studies with the total of 70 patients were included in the assessment of safety, however no study could answer the question of efficacy. The quality of evidence was very low and the overall risk of bias was considered moderate. Hence, no conclusion could be made about the effectiveness and safety of EST, and the ongoing randomised controlled trial will influence the result considerably. The inclusion in the Austrian catalogue of benefits is currently not recommended.
