Authors' recommendations: Very low-quality evidence suggests that lymph node transfer could decrease mastectomy-related upper-extremity lymphedema, although its length of effect is unknown. The procedure has some adverse effects (pain at the site where the lymph-node was removed, lymphocele). The clinical practice guidelines identified as well as the private United States health sponsors consider it a technique still at experimental stage.
