Authors' recommendations: Evidence of very low quality shows that dynamic magnetic resonance imaging is similar or inferior to videodefecography, urodynamic testing or other diagnostic methods used in pelvic floor dysfunction disorders. The clinical practice guidelines consulted limit its use mainly to posterior or middle compartment disorders; however its superiority to other imaging procedures such as videodefecography could not be determined. Some American health sponsors cover this technology for complex cases, mainly recurrent prolapses or during preoperative assessment.
