Authors' recommendations: Upon gathering information from good clinical practice recommendations and during multiple consultations, INESSS made the following observations: • Prescribing PPIs is unwarranted in many cases. • It will take more than clinical tools and training to change prescribing habits. • One of the options for implementing the recommendations concerning the coverage of long-term PPI therapy could constitute a strategy for improving PPI use. • The RAMQ confirms the feasibility of linking INESSS's clinical recommendations to one of the options for implementing the recommendations concerning PPI coverage in order to better guide PPI prescribing.
