Authors' recommendations: XG 102 is a new drug injected into the eye to treat pain and inflammation in people who have had a cataract operation. A cataract occurs when the lens in the eye becomes cloudy causing blurred vision. Cataracts are very common and usually affect those over the age of 65 years. More than 300,000 cataract operations are carried out in the UK each year. The vast majority of these are successful, but complications such as inflammation do occur in a few cases.
