Authors' recommendations: The evidence supporting the use of endoscopic radiofrequency ablation (Secca Procedure) to treat fecal incontinence is limited and of very low methodological quality. There are no studies comparing it with other treatment strategies; therefore, no conclusion can be drawn on its efficacy. The clinical practice guidelines do not mention or recommend it as first line of treatment. It is not a practice covered by the health sponsors consulted.
