Authors' recommendations:
Scarce, low-quality evidence did not show clear benefits of PET/MRI when compared with PET/CT scan, in terms of therapeutic-clinical management of cancer patients. Moderate-quality evidence showed that the diagnostic accuracy of PET/MRI is similar to that of PET/CT scan in tumor assessment and staging. The clinical practice guidelines do not consider its use and several United States coverage policies consider it in experimental stage.
