Authors' objectives: Atopic dermatitis, also known as eczema, is a long term condition that affects the skin. People with atopic dermatitis have sore, dry skin that causes intense itching, which can ooze and weep. This can lead to skin infections and trouble sleeping. It usually starts in infancy and can sometimes last into adulthood. Crisaborole is a new anti-inflammatory cream for atopic dermatitis. Some studies have suggested that crisaborole can improve the symptoms of atopic dermatitis. If crisaborole is licensed for use in the UK, it could be a new treatment option for patients with atopic dermatitis.
