- describes the standard stages in the levels of care process, from determining patient competency to updating and applying levels of care;
- shows the complementary nature of the roles played by physicians and other health and social services professionals in an interdisciplinary framework;
- presents the harmonized form and how it should be used;
- specifies the conditions for applying levels of care and the way in which they complement advance medical directives and prehospital services, in particular.
