Authors' recommendations: In patients with essential tremor, the effect of tcMRgFUS on symptom score for tremor was immediate. The effect on symptom score, ADL and HRQoL was large and remained when measured up to one year after the procedure. Contrary, the natural course implies progressive detoriation. In patients with neuropathic pain or Parkinson's disease, pain and symptom scores were respectively improved in very small case series. The certainty of evidence was very low. Although the short term results are promising, the long term results including complications remain to be evaluated. The available case series can be considered as feasibility studies of a newly developed technology. The method has the advantage of being non-invasive. Severe complications are uncommon. The equipment is very expensive and requires large investments.
