ReActiv8® implantable device for treating chronic low back pain

Authors' objectives:
ReActiv8® is a device inserted into the lower back to treat back pain which has been present for more than three months despite medication. The ReActiv8® system contracts and relaxes a muscle in the lower back which helps stabilise the back and prevent pain. Patients have two 30 minute sessions a day. The session is controlled by the patient via a handheld wireless remote control.
