Oxecam for health monitoring in secure mental health facilities

English
Authors' objectives: Oxecam uses a video camera to monitor patients in secure mental health facilities who need to be regularly observed so that they do not harm themselves or suffer side effects from their treatment. The camera gathers information on heart rate, breathing rate and movement which is analysed and sent remotely to staff to let them know if a patient might be unwell. The technology avoids having to have physical contact with the patient to monitor their health, which can disturb sleep and potentially interfere with recovery.
