Authors' objectives: The IRIDICA system has been developed by Abbott Molecular to aid the detection and identification of the causative agents of microbial infections, thereby informing treatment and management decisions. The system combines Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) and Electrospray Ionisation Mass Spectrometry (ESI-MS) technology in a single platform.
