Authors' objectives: BuddyWOTCH™ is a smartwatch that can be worn all the time at home to monitor the health of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). It has sensors that record walking, oxygen levels in the blood, temperature and heart rate. The developer says it can detect and warn the patient of a COPD 'flare-up', so that they can access treatments quicker.
