Authors' objectives: The Sonata™ System (previously VizAblate®), developed by Gynesonics, is an incisionless, transcervical system that combines ultrasound image guidance with radiofrequency (RF) ablation. The system is designed to treat symptomatic uterine fibroids in a hospital outpatient setting, depending on anaesthetic requirements.
