To review evidence on the safety, efficacy/effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of Chlorthalidone to reduce
cardiovascular events compared with current practice with hydrochlorothiazide.
Authors' recommendations:
The studies available were of good level but limited evidence to show Chlorthalidone could reduce
cardiovascular events in hypertensive patients.
