                Authors' recommendations:
                The evidence found is of moderate methodological quality. The use of porcine biological prosthesis for the management of anal fistula did not prove to be better than standard treatments in terms of rate of cure, relapse, quality of life or fecal continence.
There is no consensus among the clinical practice guidelines regarding its recommendation. The health sponsors surveyed do not consider its coverage because it is considered an alternative at investigational stage, given the limited amount and quality of evidence available.
