Authors' recommendations:
The existing evidence found is of high methodological quality. This shows that endovascular laser is as effective as conventional saphenectomy for the treatment of varicose veins. Since it is associated with lower complications and a lower adverse event occurrence, some clinical practice guidelines recommend it as first-line treatment. Coverage policies consulted (all of them from the USA) consider it as an alternative to surgery and consider its coverage in specific cases.
