Original Title:
Ablación tisular por radiofrecuencia con temperatura controlada en apnea obstructiva del sueño
Authors' recommendations:
Although the evidence found suggests that temperature-controlled radiofrequency tissue ablation would result in short-term improvement in obstructive sleep apnea treatment, it is of low methodological quality. Most information comes from very heterogeneous case series with few participants who were not stratified by severity and also in which results were measured at short-term only. Additionally, it does not show higher benefits when compared with continuous airway positive pressure treatment. The clinical practice guidelines and coverage policies consider the existing evidence is not enough to recommend its use, and consider it experimental.
