Authors' recommendations: Most of the identified studies do not describe how the differences observed in measuring the anterior chamber depth with the different devices affect decision making, such as choice of intraocular lens for refractive surgeries or phacoemulsification. Evidence of moderate quality showed that with conventional ultrasound anterior chamber depth measurements are lower and user-dependent when compared with IOL Master®. On the other hand, although other devices such as IOL Master® and Pentacam® have proved to be equal in measuring the anterior chamber depth, some experts recommend using the same device if a particular patient needed follow up. No clinical practice guidelines or coverage policies on the use of IOL Master® and Pentacam® devices for anterior chamber biometry were identified.
