Authors' recommendations: Despite a lack of comparative evidence on the safety and effectiveness of CD34 stents, this technology is likely to diffuse rapidly into the public health system and may represent a considerable financial burden to the jurisdictions. HealthPACT therefore recommend that this technology should only be used in the context of research until such data supporting its clinical effectiveness is made available from appropriate comparative studies.
