Authors' recommendations: ALK FISH testing identifies tumours that carry the ALK rearrangement obtained from patients with advanced NSCLC. Subsidy from the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme is also being sought for crizotinib for the treatment of patients with the ALK rearrangement.
