Authors' objectives: Blepharospasm is a chronic progressive disorder, defined as involuntary, sporadic or permanent eyelid closure resulting in significant visual disability. Cervical dystonia (spasmodic torticollis) covers a spectrum of involuntary movements with abnormal posture of the head and shoulder/neck region. Post-stroke spasticity of the upper limb imposes a considerable humanistic burden. It is not only painful, but is often associated with functional impairment in personal hygiene and dressing, necessitating the help of a family member or professional caregiver.
