Authors' recommendations: After considering the strength of the available evidence in relation to the safety, clinical effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of MitraClip, MSAC did not support public funding for the reduction of mitral regurgitation through tissue approximation using transvenous /transseptal techniques on the basis that there is no evidence to suggest that the procedure is more effective than surgery.
