Authors' recommendations:
There is currently no explicit evidence or guidance for the safe administration of ECT in non-hospital settings. A limited number of guidelines that describe where ECT may be provided made reference to outpatient settings, however an outpatient setting may or may not be inclusive of a hospital environment.
