Authors' recommendations:
The results of the majority of the included publications suggested that autologous fat transfer was safe for use as reconstructive surgery. The results regarding cancer recurrence rates were mixed. Due to the methodological limitations and heterogeneity of the body of evidence, the findings identified in this review should be interpreted with caution. More well-designed clinical studies with longer follow-up periods may be required in order to confirm these conclusions.
