Authors' recommendations: Photoselective vaporization of prostate reduces hospital stay and complications compared to transurethral resection of prostate. This can cause a decrease in costs for the health system, despite the higher cost of consumables required. The efficiency of the technology in the long term will depend heavily on parameters that are not completely determined as the rate of reoperation.
