The Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS) has been asked to take a position on targeted testing for hepatitis C (HCV) among baby boomers. The issue has been studied by the Ministère's Service de lutte contre les infections transmissibles sexuellement et par le sang (SLITSS) and the Institut national de santé publique du Québec (INSPQ).
The MSSS requested INESSS's co-operation to establish this profile, with the goal of estimating, among those insured by the Public Prescription Drug Insurance Plan, the number of users of certain treatments for hepatitis C in Québec from January 1, 2009, to August 2014, according to different variables: age, gender, coverage category and health region.
