Authors' objectives: The objective of this analysis was to determine the safety of simultaneous bilateral knee arthroplasty compared to staged bilateral knee arthroplasty.
Authors' recommendations: Based on 1 systematic review with methodological flaws, the following conclusions were made related to the safety of simultaneous bilateral TKA compared to staged bilateral TKA (very low quality of evidence): There was a significant increase in 30-day mortality. There was a significant increase in pulmonary embolism. There was a significant decrease in deep infections
