Authors' recommendations: No studies that examined the accuracy of x-rays for diagnosing pneumonia as the precipitant of an acute HF event were identified. All of the guidelines reviewed comment on the importance of diagnosing pulmonary infections such as pneumonia as a potential precipitant of an acute heart failure event.
