Authors' objectives:
Total hip arthroplasty (THA) is performed to relieve pain and restore mobility and function of a diseased or damaged hip and, thereby, to improve quality of life. Compared with standard THA, minimally invasive THA (MI THA) uses smaller incisions and/or less soft-tissue dissection as a means to reduce blood loss and tissue damage and shorten recovery and rehabilitation time.
