Human acellular dermal matrix (HADM) provides a collagen-rich, immunologically nonresponsive, biological structural scaffold for tissue ingrowth, vascularization, and regeneration for use in breast reconstruction (BR) and other types of plastic surgery. In immediate postmastectomy BR, HADM is used to create the implant pocket in 1-stage BR and to help cover the tissue expander in 2-stage BR.
