Fecal calprotectin assay for management of crohn's disease
Record ID 32014000361
English
Authors' recommendations:
Fecal calprotectin (FC) testing involves measurement of the amount of calprotectin protein present in stool samples. Calprotectin is released by immune system cells that trigger and maintain the inflammation involved in Crohn's Disease (CD). Therefore, detection of FC has been proposed as a noninvasive method to monitor the presence and severity of CD, and this information may facilitate the management of CD.
