Authors' objectives: To define the indications in which the use of TAVI is appropriate for treatment of symptomatic severe aortic stenosis in adult patients.
Authors' recommendations: On the basis of a systematic review of the literature and the judgement of a panel of experts, a list of 224 clinical indications was drawn up for the use of TAVI in adult patients with symptomatic severe aortic stenosis. • In 8.5% of indications, the use of TAVI is appropriate. • In 23.7% of indications, it could not be established whether the use of TAVI resulted in more benefits than risks (uncertain indications)
