Authors' objectives: To identify and evaluate the 3 T MRI effectiveness and safety compared with 1.5 T for different pathologies.
Authors' recommendations: Data provided by the included reports in this review show that 3 T MRI was higher than 1.5 T MRI in terms of detect coronary arterial disease by lesions quantification, joint injuries, tumour lesions in pituitary microadenomas and brain metastases. Safety data provided by evaluated reports showed a low rate of complications in patients with cardiac devices (stents). However, a higher clinical and methodological heterogeneity of reports included and higher risk of bias could limit theses results applicability.
