Fractional flow reserve testing for guiding Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCIs)

Record ID 32013000815
English
Authors' recommendations: Fractional flow reserve (FFR) involves use of a pressure transducer mounted on the tip of a coronary catheter to obtain direct measurements of blood pressure inside coronary arteries that have partial blockages, which reveals how severely the blockages impede blood flow to the heart. FFR has been proposed as an adjunct to coronary angiography as a means to help cardiologists decide whether percutaneous coronary interventions (PCIs) such as angioplasty and stenting should be performed.
