Authors' recommendations: Summary. No studies were found which used complete wound healing as the end point. Based on studies with short follow-up periods, we found insufficient evidence to determine whether or not silver dressings are any more effective than other types of dressing for the healing of infected wounds or the prevention of wound infection. Silver dressings are more expensive than many other types of dressing.
