Authors' recommendations:
Racecadotril (Hidrasec®) granules for oral suspension are not recommended for use within NHS Wales for the complementary symptomatic treatment of acute diarrhoea in infants (older than 3 months) and children.
AWMSG was not convinced that the case presented for clinical and cost effectiveness supported the use of this medicine in NHS Wales.
