Authors' recommendations:
Remote cognitive-behavioral therapies for bulimia nervosa (BN) include various behavioral interventions delivered via the Internet, CD-ROM, telephone, videoconference, or other remote or computerized communication channel. These therapies are intended to reduce or eliminate the core symptoms of binge eating, purging, and compensatory behaviors associated with the eating disorder. These interventions may be administered by a therapist, or may be self-guided, often with a minimal amount of guidance or support from a therapist.
