Authors' recommendations: The goal of obstructive sleep apnea diagnosis is to identify patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS), to establish the precise factors responsible for the apnea, and to determine the most appropriate strategy for treatment. Home sleep studies are used to diagnose OSAS without the need for a laboratory stay.
