Authors' objectives: Do medication reviews for patients in nursing homes affect mortality and hospitalizations?
Authors' recommendations: Older patients who reside in nursing homes have a high mortality. To show an effect of a specific intervention on mortality and hospitalisations, a larger material would be required than was available in the present report. Medication reviews compared with standard care for nursing home residents have not been shown to reduce mortality or hospitalisations. The level of evidence for this conclusion was assessed as low (GRADE++).
